Your Ingenium P250 holds approximately 7.4 quarts (7.0 liters) on a standard drain and fill, so the eighth quart is there to top off to the exact level on the dipstick without a separate trip to the parts counter.

The kit also includes a Genuine Land Rover OEM oil filter cartridge (LR073669) complete with its replacement rubber O-ring seal. This is the same filter supplied to Land Rover dealerships and fitted to your Rover at the factory. The cartridge-style filter is housed inside the engine's oil cooler and filter assembly and is responsible for stripping contaminants from the oil before they reach the bearings, camshafts, and internal clearances that keep this engine running smooth. A fresh O-ring is included to ensure the filter housing seals properly and does not weep oil after installation. Also included is a new OEM drain plug complete with its integrated sealing O-ring. The drain plug on the Ingenium sump is a single-use sealing component, and replacing it at every oil change is the correct service procedure per JLR specifications. Reusing an old drain plug with a compressed or worn O-ring is one of the most common causes of slow oil leaks after a DIY service, and this kit eliminates that risk entirely.

For customers who want to go the extra mile, an optional oil filter housing wrench is available as an add-on. The Ingenium filter housing cap is seated snugly in a recessed area of the engine and can be stubborn to break loose, particularly if it was last tightened at the dealership. The dedicated wrench is sized and shaped for this housing specifically and makes removal straightforward without the risk of damaging the plastic cap.
